Yet another update

Another visit to the doctors resulted in great news, my blood is almost back to normal, that is apart from my iron reserves they are not at first team strength. All being said, I have to continue with the iron tablets until they run out, help boost those reserves, and maintain the Zantac routine of 2 a day for the foreseeable future. The ulcer is still there, but not bugging me as much, time and time will be the measure of how much it will heal, just as long as I don't eat the wrong things.

Still devoid of the spicy niceyness who goes by the name of curry, a few beers now and then and no chillies. So apart from that life is returning to normal, back to the gym, try to get fit again. Managed to put on not too many kilo's while recouperating, but it still has to come off. Work is still what it is, almost seems like it never happened sometimes, until my alarm goes off to remind me to take my tablets.

Latest Update

Another visit to the doctors and some good news, my HB (haemoglobin) levels are rising quite nicely, results show they are at a healthier 10.8, still a little to go to the minimum of 13, but it's all looking good. On the drug front, have finished one set of drugs and now on super strength Zantac twice a day for the next 2 months with another lot of iron tablets twice a day. Not sure if I should be singing along to Black Sabbath or telling Mr Downey Jr to move over, for I am Iron Man.

mr downey jr
those black sabbath fellows
Food with still have to be curry and spice free for the time being, and alcohol is kinda off the menu, but the odd one is permissible, looks like it will be Guinness could be making a comeback over Christmas, plus it's full of iron as well. All looks good at the moment, with a return to work looking possible in the new year. Shame, was getting used to doing my own thing every day, despite how skint I am.

off the menu
That concludes this update, thanks again to anyone who has expressed concern over my recent illness, normality will soon return, whatever that maybe as far as I am concerned anyway.

yummy, twice a day

Pre Halloween BBQ Rum & Curry

Decided to have a get together in my back garden, burn some wood, cook some food, drink some rum and generally have a good time. So we did. Dragged the huge tarp out from the shed, created a large cover for some of the garden, fashioned a chimney for my chimnea and sorted some wire for speakers.

Everyone brought something, whether it was food or drink, it was all added to the evenings consumption. The BBQ was fired up eventually, chimneas set ablaze and rum poured generously.

As the evening progressed the silly wigs and hats came out, photographs taken and more rum consumed.

Eventually the curry was dished out and lapped up, all the bowls appeared to be licked clean, a quick tidy up and the evening was an early morning, but we all went our separate ways.

Goodnight.
